SertaPedic mattress

by Fern Pelletier
(Ontario)

Fifteen years ago we purchased a queen size SertaPedic firm lockcoil design mattress - 'Jubilee Emerald'. The mattress is flipable and fairly heavy.

We just moved it to the guest room still looking new with no sags. My wife has never complained of being disturbed by motion transfer even though, in the morning, my side of the bed looks like it's been hit by a twister.

We replaced it with a 'Serta Windsor Supreme'...unbelievably light and not flipable. It has good support and and the plushness relieves pressure on my damaged shoulders... however, I have yet to complete a night on this disappointing mattress.

Partway through the night I clutch my favorite pillow and stumble in the dark to find my 'old mattress', now upstairs... I just can't get used to the feeling of drowning in warm rubber which is what this new mattress design does to me. How can one get a cool sleep when the pillowy blend of material used under and around you traps and radiates your body heat back to you?

Surely this industry trend of using so much foam in your sleeping material is rather meant more as a cost cutting measure than a comfort improvement. So, what else is new!
